Stay in Your Lane: God-Given Authority

About “Stay in Your Lane: God-Given Authority”

“Stay in Your Lane” is written with the image of a sprinter. The sprinter has his own lane, needs to know his lane, and although he needs to stay in his lane, it brings freedom, space, and the possibility to reach full potential.

The title is not intended to be derogatory as the phrase has been used at times. Those who do not know their lane can run aimlessly as they trip up and possibly even get injured. Staying in one’s lane can bring safety to everyone.

“Stay in Your Lane” examines four areas of our lives where we need to find and develop our responsibilities and attitude: government, work, home, the church. All of these are needed and it is imperative that we understand and develop each role in our lives.

As you develop your position in different aspects of life, remember the words of Jesus, “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant.” Matthew 20:26

“Stay in Your Lane” consists of four study guides for personal or group discussion and twenty-four devotions to help you lead with humility and obey with delight.

“Authority exercised with humility, and obedience accepted with delight are the very lines along which our spirits live.” C.S. Lewis
