About: “Revelation”

Thinking about the book of Revelation can entice several emotions ranging from fear to excitement. The purpose of the book is just as extreme. It brings a clear warning to those who have not given their life to Jesus that a destiny without Him will be horrendous. God is calling them out to Him for salvation. However, the book of Revelation is also designed to instill comfort in the believer that although life is full of pain, hardship, and evil, God wins! We do not totally understand what the future holds, but we do know Who holds the future!

John F. Walvoord wrote, “As the New Testament opens with the four Gospels relating to the first coming of Christ, so the Book of Revelation closes the New Testament with the general theme of the second coming of Christ.” The goal of this study is not to settle all eschatological arguments; but to focus on the fact that Jesus is coming again, He will judge every one of us, and by faith (or the lack thereof) in Jesus as Savior, we will spend eternity in Heaven or the Lake of Fire.

This book, “Revelation,” has one main purpose – to point everyone to Jesus. Although we will study the Dragon, Great Prostitute, Beast, seven churches, four horsemen, angels, elders, 144,000, and two witnesses, the main character is the Lamb (Jesus).

“Revelation” walks through the book of Revelation and contains nineteen study guides for personal study or group discussion and over one hundred devotions that help interpret and give practical applications for daily life. The goal of the book of Revelation and “Revelation” is to point you to Jesus. “Revelation” will not answer all theological questions, but it does emphasize the most important question, “What difference does it make of who Jesus is to you?”
